The X-CITED programme will establish a multi-faceted model to create a Research Technical Professional (RTP) pipeline. It connects RTPs with industry to enable effective collaborations and tests a trainee RTP talent bank model — training the next generation of skilled technical support and ensuring that experienced RTPs can take up development opportunities.
The programme aims to ensure that more experienced RTPs realise their full potential for broader societal benefit through their engagement with industry, while also nurturing the next generation of RTPs entering the profession.
The project is one of 11 UKRI Strategic Technical Platforms funded by EPSRC and the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure programme to support and develop the RTP community.
