CLARIN & DARIAH UK Annual Event 2026
The CLARIN & DARIAH UK Annual Event 2026 takes place on Friday 2 October 2026, 09:30–17:30, at the Edward Street Building, University of Brighton. The event is organised by the CLARIN UK consortium and the DISKAH Network, and hosted by the University of Brighton and the University of Oxford.
The event brings together the UK and European community interested in research infrastructures within the arts and humanities, with the aim of strengthening collaboration, sharing knowledge and exploring new opportunities. It is open to all researchers, academics, GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) practitioners and professionals, as well as those from the creative industries interested in shaping the infrastructures behind research.
Themes for the day are:
- Research infrastructure — communities, tools, compute, data and services for arts and humanities research, and how they can be shared across disciplines and countries
- Collections as data — connecting data across libraries, museums and archives with infrastructures and services for research using FAIR and CARE principles
- Policy and partnership — funding, sustainability and cross-sector collaboration on common challenges
- Human capital and skills — training, skills and career development for researchers, GLAM professionals and infrastructure developers
Programme highlights (schedule to be confirmed) include:
- Research infrastructure of language resources
- Research infrastructures for arts and humanities, with speakers from Durham, Trinity College Dublin and King’s College London
- Keynote: CLARIAH: A View from Other Countries — German Rigau i Claramunt (University of the Basque Country)
- Keynote: UKRI DRI Strategy for Digital Research Infrastructure
- Panel: looking to broader UK and European research infrastructures
- Poster session and project showcase
- Showcases of communities and collaborations across disciplines
- Closing reception with drinks and networking
